News > Want a Newer Development? Try Desert Ridge Condos
by Liz Suto
Developers try to go where there's land and that's what Toll Brothers, Statesman, Pulte and other developers did when they built condo developments in the Desert Ridge area, including Toscana and Villages at Aviano. In case you're an out-of-towner, here's a little background on how Arizona land gets "doled out" to developers.
The State of Arizona owns much of the un-developed land in Arizona. Every once in a while, they'll auction off a parcel of land to residential and commercial developers. That's how the master planned community of Desert Ridge came to being in 1993. Parcels of land have been auctioned off several times in the last 2 decades, resulting in robust building in the Desert Ridge area.
Besides having newer developments, Desert Ridge is a great place to live for those who like easy access to the highway system and all the shopping, restaurants and golf you need right in one place. If you like newer homes and condos, Desert Ridge is the place to consider in Phoenix. Most of the condos in this area were built in the years between 2006-2008, but there are some new phases of existing developments built in 2014-2015. That means you'll find the open floorplans, granite and stainless, and tile floors pretty typical in condos in Desert Ridge area. Which condo development to pick in Desert Ridge? Here's a quick rundown on the strengths of each desert ridge condo community:
Bella Monte - Spacious, open floorplans are a big hit in this community. Plus, Bella Monte has some nice open space between buildings so many condos have green belt, pool or golf views.
Villages at Aviano - Not only does the community have its own pool, residents also have access to the Aviano community center right across the street and all of the other Aviano activities food truck Friday, Casino night, and more.
Toscana at Desert Ridge - This is the "condo" choice in Desert Ridge and where you'll often find the lowest priced units because they are smaller. This high quality development has great community amenities - awesome pool and workout facilities. Residents get to know each other through the community activities.
Fireside at Desert Ridge - These are townhome style - a good choice for those looking for patio or garden space outside. You'll also find the largest floorplans here, with most over 1700 square feet.
