News > 7th Street in Uptown Phoenix is in a Mini Boom

published on 2018-03-17

If you're not paying attention while driving, 7th Street seems like just another commuter street in Phoenix - a road to get to Downtown Phoenix for work, or north to the many residential neighborhoods.  But there's a mini-trend on this street in the midtown and uptown areas, with new businesses following each other to this still affordable, but up and coming area of Phoenix.  The 7th Street corridor changes are happening north of Downtown Phoenix, in the uptown and downtown areas.

Trendy Restaurants Take Center Stage

The core of the big changes on 7th Street are new restaurants.   One of the first notable entertainment and restaurant venus to  7th Street was The Yard, an outdoor game-centric place (think Corn Hole, Ping Pong and Foosball) surrounded by restaurants like Culinary Dropout to form a fun place to go for a night out (21 and over during evening hours).  It wasn't long before more restaurant owners got the idea that 7th Street was hot, and moved in as well.  Mora, an Italian Bistro across from The Yard, scratches the itch for homemade pasta and wood fired pizza.  Get your burger nearby too, at Cold Beer and Cheeseburgers.

But there are not just restaurants that have joined the trend.  You'll also find a local brewery tap room, an escape room, coffee shops and the requisite local shopping spots.

No doubt these additions will start to draw more businesses over time, and it's already caught the eye of people who want to live here.

Condos Near 7th Street

The 7th Street corridor is home to a bunch of 70's townhomes that are starting to be remodeled to fit in with the urban buyer, like  12th Street Registry. You'll find both the patio home style and the two-level townhomes. These communities offer the least expensive way to live near 7th Street.

One of the newer options in Uptown is Andare, an enclave of condos and townhomes with the pool and spa area in the middle of the community.  Andare was built in 2008,  so you'll get the more contemporary architecture that includes open floorplans and higher ceilings. Townhomes have both balconies and private patios. Andare is an easy walk to 7th street restaurants.
