PAPAGO PARK Condos, Lofts and Townhomes For Sale.

Here's an interesting story about Papago Park: During World War II, Papago Park housed a German prisoner of war camp with over 400 POWs. I was told by a local history expert that many of the Prisoners enjoyed the weather so much that they relocated here after the war was over! No wonder. One look at the beautiful rocks surrounding them and how could you not fall in love. Phoenix city government thought so as well, and in 1959, they bought the property and turned it into a park. Papago Park covers 1,200 acres and has numerous picnic sites with ramadas, tables, grills, water and electricity. The park also contains fishing lagoons, bike and hiking paths the Phoenix Zoo, a botanical garden, the fire museum and the Papago Golf Course. Surrounding the Papago Park area is housing and commercial office parks.
